I want to send this out to all the pet parents on this site who have lost their animal friends. It's too bad that they are only with us for a brief time, and losing them hurts so much. Just remember they made our lives wonderful during the time they did share with us. Give yourself time to grieve, then you must move on. This doesn't mean you forget them, just that you can remember all the good times you shared, and be happy for that. I lost my long-time feline friend, Taz, the Monday before Christmas last year. I've had a difficult time letting go of the pain of losing him, but finally now my husband and I can remember how great a friend he was, and look back at all the great memories. We have a photo album that has only pictures of all three cats we've had in the last 23 years, and we laugh at all the funny things they did, and how much they meant to us. We've begun considering getting a new cat, and have visited shelters and PetFinder, looking for a possible new addition to open our hearts an home to. Again, please accept my sympathies, and may time help heal your hearts.

What a lovely post. We do heal, and we do learn to love again, if we let ourselves. I see each animal in our lives as a teacher. There is always something unique that we learn from each one. When we deny ourselves the opportunity to love another, we stunt our growth. So many need homes, and when our hearts and arms feel too empty, we need them as much as they need us. May everyone here open their hearts and continue to grow forever.

your next kitty is going to be someone very special. Enjoy your upcoming journey!
In one of the stars, I shall be living. In one of them, I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing when you look at the sky at night. -- The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery

All tears are healing tears.  They help to wash away our sorrow and allow the first buds of happiness to blossom in our hearts. -- Susie "Squillions"
