I was watching Crossing Over with John Edwards last night on the WE channel. He was talking about grieving a death, and he said, "We NEVER get over it, we learn to get through it." Many times when he's doing a reading, he will let someone know that their deceased pet is there with a loved one. He will even tell the person their pets name! Naturally, the people looked shocked and are so happy to hear that. I have no doubt that our pets are still with us in spirit. Anyway, when he said we never get over it, that we learn to get through it, I thought of everyone here on this forum.

It doesn't ever go away, the pain just dulls over time.  After a while, the painful thoughts are replaced with bittersweet memories and the tears fall less and less.  Thanks for your post.
