I am a licensed social worker by trade and it occurred to me tonight while speaking with coworker, all of this sadness, grief and loss is TRAUMATIC. I knew that the loss of my dog would be difficult not matter what but the suddenness and the mental pictures of watching her die are gut wrenching. There are very specific treatments for trauma and PTSD and it may be worth looking into for anyone who may be interested. EMDR comes to mind. There is tons of evidence behind it, and it is used effectively by the VA with veterans. There are lots of articles online-
Hope this helps  and I intend to try it..

Love XX and prayers-

I will look into it as I still cry everyday and my heart aches when I think about her last day and her last moments.  My lovely dog Pecan passed away unexpectedly 5 months ago. Thanks for sharing.
