I was out on the golf course today where all 3 of my dogs used to run.  A neighbor out with his dog said, "You only have 2 now?".  I had to tell the tale of Maggie passing from kidney failure and how I did everything know to mankind to save her.

I home now and crying like it was the first day I lost her.  Still not a year but still so hard.

I've had neighbors all around my subdivision ask me where Murphy is when I walk Spencer alone now and have had to tell them about Murphy's last battle and loss, too. It's incredibly hard, isn't it? Everyone knew Murphy from our walks for the past 4 years that we've lived in this house. People often don't stop to think of the effect their words might have or how they word what they say. Someone who cherishes their furbabies the way we do probably wouldn't even phrase the question the way your neighbor did without thinking.

I'm very sorry for your loss of Maggie.

Blessings,
Murphy's Mom (Kathryn)
