My grandparents recently were moved into assisted living after my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and my grandfather was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer. They had a dog named Maddie who was abused really young and my mom and I saved her. We gave Maddie to my grandparents, and she's lived nine years. Maddie was diagnosed with cancer and had over seven lumps of cancer all over her body. We were going to put her down but found that we couldn't do it. We also have another dog with cancer and at her oncology appointment talked to her vet about Maddie. She told us that with Boxers, they develop a type of calcium cancer that destroys her kidneys. We knew that putting her to sleep would be the humane thing to do. It was one of the worst experiences of my life, but now she is no longer in pain. Rest in Peace Maddie. We love you with all our hearts and souls.
