Please say a prayer for my neighbor, Dave, and his dog, Sugar.  We just learned that Sugar has gone to the Rainbow Bridge and Dave is devastated.  I don't know any of the details about what happened, but I can tell you that Sugar was a grand old lady Boxer.  She was a polite, beautiful brindle girl who absolutely adored Dave and everyone she ever met.  Please say a prayer for Dave to find the strength he will need in the coming days and weeks.

Prayers sent...with hugs and tears....reading of recent losses still breaks my heart...
It's been 7 weeks now for me, and it is getting better....slowly....I still talk to Pooh everynight and kiss his picture ....
Thank you Susie for all your wonderful ways with words and thoughts....it's comforting to come on here and read your posts.  Debi

Thank you, Debi.

I got the low-down today, and it sounds like Sugar knew what was coming, and planned the end perfectly.  Apparently, when Dave got home from work, she was ready to go outside.  He took her out for a leisurely time and she did what she needed to do there.  He went upstairs to take a shower, and when he returned downstairs, she was gone.  I have no doubt that she wanted to see him one more time.  She was an elderly lady, and she had been having accidents every now and then lately.

I am so touched that she waited for him to get home from work.  So careful not to have an accident on her last day.   She waited to welcome him home one last time, and then when he went upstairs for his shower, she would just lie down and go to sleep.  I am certain she had it planned out.  She was such a fine, good girl.  I know she makes a beautiful angel now.

Dave wrapped Sugar in her blanket and took her to his parents' home, where he buried her next to his past best friends who had gone before her.  I hope he will be ready soon to welcome a new pup into his home. He is such a good doggy daddy, and any pup would be so lucky to get the position of Dave's best friend.

Fly high among the angels, Miss Sugar, and please entertain my boys!
