My Baby Leon has been gone for three and a half months now, and I'm missing him more than ever.

I found myself writing a poem for him today - and wanted to share it with people who will understand.

For Leon

I can’t believe it’s over

I can’t believe you’re gone

I can’t believe that you’re not with me

I can’t believe we’re done

I can believe how much you loved me

And how much I love you

I can believe in Rainbow Bridge

I really hope it’s true

When my time on earth is done

When I am old and grey

I’ll feel you in my arms again

And in my arms you’ll stay

I know I have to carry on

Until that great day comes

To dare to hope, to smile, to laugh

Despite the fact you’re gone

I’ll hold you in my arms my sweet

We’ll cross the bridge together

But I can live until that day

Our love will last forever

I hope you all enjoy it

CT_Cat_Lady,

This is a beautiful poem!  Save it and post it again in a month or so so other new people can read it.  Truly beautiful.

I know these days are hard.  I started to feel some relief at about 6 months; still had ups and downs though.  The downs weren't as low and the ups were a bit higher.

Thinking of you.

Thank you so much for sharing this absolutely beautiful poem. 7 weeks ago today is when Misty ended up at the ER vet and was gone 2 days later. I really can't talk about how much I'm still hurting even with my other friends who love their fur babies so having this whole other family has been so helpful.

Everyone, please be good to yourselves and look for some peace today.

Thank you for your comments - I love having a place that I can come to talk to other people who understand.

I was good to myself today - I went for a lovely manicure to cheer myself up.
