I just wanted to join this forum because I lost my 15 year old baby, Chico and I don't want to burden my family and friends with this sadness.

I feel totally empty and sick to my stomach.  He was very sick with diabetes and kidney failure.  within 2 weeks he has had 2 seizures and was so disoriented.  My husband and I had to make the tough decision to put Chico out of his misery.  I'm still not sure, but know in my heart this was the right thing to do.

I just want to say, I'm lost. I am smelling his blanket and missing him terribly. I cannot add a photo because it says too big.  anyway, thx for listening.

does anyone know how to make a picture fit?

Sorry for your loss. This site really helps... be prepared to sob frequently. My pictures were always too large to fit. What I do is post pics to facebook and then goto insert photos on this site and choose web address. Make sure pic you want is showing.Right click on picture for copy image address.Hope everything helps. Takes awhile for pics to download on this site.

I'm sorry. I lost my 15 yr old Bassett last week with twisted stomach. I feel same way plus horrible guilt for feeding him that morning and then my vet sent us hour n half away to emergency specialist. So after him going under for surgery only to find 90% of stomach was deteriorated already so they had to let him go. So now I didn't get to be with him n prolonged his suffering. That morning will haunt me forever:(

So sorry to hear about Chico. I think you will find some of the best people here to help you. I also did not want to keep burdening people close to me so I went in search of something on the internet. I didn't know what ... but I found this site and stayed. Please come back frequently. You will be surprised at how many people are here for you and feel the same way you do. You are starting out on a long journey now and it won't be easy. I am 9 weeks from my little girl's death and cry everyday. Somedays I cry until my teeth ache. Take care.

So sorry for your loss...I feel your pain. It's still fresh for me everyday. I don't want to burden anyone in the family either and found this site/forum. This forum is helping me. Something about reading about others who are agonizing along with your own agonies seems to hit the core. I look for inspiration and hope on living life again, as I feel I'm just existing & going through the motions the best I can. I know life is precious & we should hang onto every second of the day as if it were our last, but I find sleeping is how I'm coping. I have great hopes that I will "get back into life" hopefully soon, though the sparkle of life is amiss right now.

So sorry for your loss of Chico. It really feels like time stands still. We lost our 17 year old dog Jim almost 8 weeks ago, and I still sniff his blanket, hold his toys - anything to feel closer to him.  You`ve come to the right place, everyone on this site has all been through the same thing and it really helps to know you`re not on your own.
                Take care, Jackie
