I'm so sorry for your loss. Everyone in this forum is pretty much an emotional wreck also.

The heart vs the mind. The heart rules when it comes to the love we have for our pets (I consider them to be our babies). Intellectually we know they will not live forever, and their life span is so much shorter than ours, but our hearts break and we don't want it to be so. Of course you're a wreck, losing a loved one is a terrible thing. Whether you had them for a month or 20 years, it hurts when they leave us.

I hope you continue to post and share stories of your dog with us.

Gina I’m so sorry for the pain you’re in. Our emotions override every logic in the aftermath of tragedy. As Marlen said, the heart rules. I hope reading other stories gives you some comfort, you’re not alone,,,,,

Yes, the grief wreaks havoc on our emotions! And unfortunately healing can take a long time. Be extra good to yourself and gentle. It's very very hard, especially at first.
